IAN MARTIN JONES Editor, Air Cargo Week, Editorial Director, Air Logistics China Ian Martin Jones has been in the editorial business for 46 years, including a 10-year period in Fleet Street and 20 years editing publications covering air, sea and multimodal freight logistics. Having editorially covered a number of consumer, leisure and business disciplines, one period of his career was spent working on airline in-flight publications for a number of international carriers. Jones took over as editor of Air Cargo Week shortly after its September 1998 launch, since which time this globally-distributed tabloid has firmly established itself as the air logistic industry's best-read weekly newspaper. He is also editorial director of The A-Z Group, which publishes a comprehensive range of essential reference works for the world's air cargo industry and has a substantial web presence. The A-Z Group is co-organiser of the established biennial air freight trade shows, Air Cargo Europe in Munich and Air Cargo China (Shanghai). |
Lisa A Pleasant
Managing director marketing, American Airlines CargoAs managing director of the marketing organisation at American Airlines Cargo, Lisa A Pleasant is responsible for all interline alliance, marketing and sales support initiatives. She was named managing director in March 2007 after leading the Partner Development organisation for the American Airlines AAdvantage programme. Pleasant joined American as a commodity manager at its Dallas/Fort Worth headquarters in 1997. In 1999, she was named controller for the Flight Services organisation. She became director of Partner Development for the AAdvantage programme in 2001. |
Ram Menen
Divisional senior vice president cargo, Emirates AirlineRam Menen began his career in the aviation industry in 1976 at Kuwait Airways. He later moved to British Airways to head its cargo operations in Kuwait. In 1984 he joined the Kuwaiti aviation group, Alghanim Al Qutub Shipping Agencies, to set up and manage its air freight forwarding unit in Dubai. Menen has headed the cargo division of Emirates since the inception of the airline in October 1985. He is one of the founder members of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), serving as vice president in 1993 and 1994 and as president, CEO and chairman of the board in 1995 and 1996. He is a resolute champion of the air logistics industry and has helped focus attention on air cargo as an integral part of the world trade process. |
Jay Shelat
Vice president cargo Jet AirwaysAn American national of Indian origin, Jay Shelat joined Mumbai-headquartered Jet Airways in March 2007. He holds a degree in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He has over 23 years of air freight experience gained with companies like Federal Express, AMR Corporation, American Airlines Cargo and World Airways in the USA. At Jet Airways, Shelat is in charge of the entire cargo operation, especially in regard to capacity on the carrierıs widebody long-haul routes. |
Wally Devereux
director of sales and marketing, Southwest Airlines CargoWally Devereaux started his career with Southwest in February 1992 as a customer service agent at the airline's main Dallas Love Field hub. Since that time, he has served in various roles at Southwest Airlines in ground operations, public relations and marketing departments. Devereaux joined the cargo management team in August 1999 as the national account manager where he spent seven years working with Southwest's largest revenue producing cargo customers. He spent a short period of time as a senior regional manager before being promoted to his current role in August of 2007. He was the recipient of the Airforwarders Association's 2007 James Foster Memorial Award for exhibiting the highest level of professionalism and dedication in advancing the causes and concerns of the Airforwarders Association and the air freight industry. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. |

Howard A Jones president of Network Cargo Systems (NCS Inc)NCS Inc was founded in 1992 in Toronto and has since grown to include offices in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec, as well as in the United States and internationally. Prior to starting NCS Inc, which manages the sales, marketing and accounting for airlines in Canada, the UK, Caribbean, Mexico and the US, Howard A Jones was in senior management positions with international airlines looking after Canada and the US. He was also a member of the executive council of IATA Canada for over five years. An alumnus of the University of Alberta and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Jones is currently a member of the board of governors for Appleby College in Ontario. |

George Alabi
regional director in Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Marketing George Alabi is responsible for selling the value of Boeing products to customers, media, leasing companies and other constituents. Alabiıs current assignment takes him around the world, meeting with top airline executives and supporting key sales campaigns with formal product presentations. He also serves as a customer advocate within Boeing, conveying their requirements, product preferences, concerns and market insights back to the companyıs product development and product strategy teams. Alabi joined Boeing in 1996. Prior to his current position, he worked on the 787 ODreamlinerı programme and was responsible for airplane and system level requirements management for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He also spent several years as an account manager in customer engineering, working directly with international airline customers to manage the 777 airplane configuration from initial purchase through to aircraft delivery. Before joining Boeing, he held engineering internships at NASA and IBM. Having graduated from the University of California with degrees in Spanish, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, Alabi also earned a Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law and is licensed to practise law in the State of Washington. | ||
